- Siglo XVIII Lane Xang entró en un periodo de declive provocado por la lucha dinástica y por los conflictos con Burma, Siam, Vietnam y el Reino Jemer. Siam invadió y asumió el control.
- Siglo XIX los siameses establecieron su poder sobre la mayor parte del territorio de Laos y éste se dividió en 3 principados: Luang Prabang, Vientiane y Champassak. A finales del siglo, los franceses sucedieron a los siameses e integraron todo Laos dentro del imperio francés bajo dominio directo, excepto por Luang Prabang, que se gobernó como un protectorado.
- XIV Century Fa Ngum, founded Lane Xang´s Kingdom, which means "Earth of the million elephants" and established the capital in Luang Prabang.
- XVIII Century Lane Xang entered a period of decline provoked by the dynastic fight and by the conflicts with Burma, Siam, Vietnam and the Kingdom Jemer. Siam invaded and assumed the control.
- XIX Century the Siamese established his power on most of the territory of Laos and this one divided in three principalities: Luang Prabang, Vientiane and Champassak. At the end of this century, the Frenchmen happened to the Siamese and integrated the whole Laos inside the French empire under direct domain, except for Luang Prabang, which was governed as a protectorate.
